About EcoClean – Dry Ice Cleaning

Dry Ice blasting is a revolutionary process designed for cleaning in a wide range of industries such as food, printing and packaging equipment. It can also be extremely useful for cleaning electrical motors, switchboards, flood, fire and mould remediation.

Compared to traditional cleaning methods, dry ice blasting is completely dry, non-toxic, non-conductive, and non-abrasive. Due to these benefits, production equipment can quite often be cleaned without costly downtime

The only substance that comes into contact with the surface being cleaned is the small pellets of dry ice (100% carbon dioxide)

The dry ice pellets impact the surface with high velocity, this combined with the very low temperature of dry ice cause the contaminant to be loosened and removed. The nature of the dry ice upon impact with the surface is that it sublimates and turns back into a gas, leaving no residues from the cleaning media. For more information, click here.

With dry ice blasting there are no chemicals that are usually associated with traditional

industry or sometimes areas of science or engineering where high levels of hygiene must be maintained, but chemicals can be problematic.

Dry ice blasting also has minimal degradation on equipment over a prolonged period of time. Compared to other traditional cleaning methods – either by hand or blasting – dry ice blasting is non-abrasive. In addition, due to the fact that no moisture is used, corrosion or electrical failure from wet equipment is not an issue. The very fact of not having to wait until equipment is dry before returning it to service can save many hours from scheduled maintenance.
